Significant first prize for the Greek World Champion Iron Mike Zambidis
He was awarded as top personality 2015 - 2016 in the field of sports
The Greek World Champion Iron Mike Zambidis gained one more significant prize, and he was awarded in the 8th award ceremony «Personalities» for 2015-2016 by the Corfiot Union of Piraeus and the Greek Art Academy Awards, as the top Personality 2015 - 2016, in the field of sports. Our Champion was honored for his contribution to the international scene of Championship and also for winning his 17th World Title in the last fight of his brilliant and successful career.
The prestigious award was awarded to Mike Zambidis by the former Minister, Mrs Dora Bakogianni and the diploma by the President of the City Council of Piraeus, Mr Giorgos Davakis. Mike Zambidis said that it was great honor and pleasure to be awarded among crucial personalities and thanked everyone for their valuable and important support throughout the years.
During the night, there were many important society representatives who were awarded for their valuable work in the field of culture, business, science, politics, local government and social work. Among others, in the Ceremony were honored: the Archbishop of G.O.C. Athens and All Greece Mr Callinicos, the former Minister Mrs. Dora Bakogianni, the chairman of the EU Military Committee Mr. Michalis Kostarakos, the film director Mr. Giannis Smaragdis, the actor Mr. Kostas Koklas, the deputy and actor Mrs. Anna Vagena, the Mayor of Lesvos Mr. Spyros Galinos, the Mayor of Kefalonia Mr. Alexandros Parisis, the shipowner Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, the cartoonist KIR and others.
Many significant personalities attended the crowded ceremony room of the Commercial & Industrial Chamber of Piraeus such as the Mayor of Piraeus Giannis Moralis, the Mayor of Marousi Giorgos Patoulis, the Mayor of Paleo Faliro Dionisis Chatzidakis, the actor Vasilis Charalampopoulos, the shipowner Kostas Fragos, Andreas Andrianopoulos, the scenographer Manolis Pantelidakis, the deputy Ioannis Tragakis, the Mayor of Nikea Giorgos Ioakimides, the Mayor of Korydallos Stavros Kasimatis, the General Secretary for Greeks Abroad Michalis Kokkinos, the actor Paris Katsivelos and the former Mayors of Hydra, Aegina, Methana, Spetses and Alimos and members of the Corfiot community of Piraeus.
