Zambidis returns to Greece as the W5 World Champion

The Greek Champion won two more exciting fights and was declared as the W5 world champion in a 4-men tournament in Moscow, Russia, confirming his amazing shape.

Zambidis was applauded by the Russian crowd and showing once again his great technique, stamina and soul at the W5 Grand Prix KO. His first opponent at the semi finals, Enriko Gogokhia, gave Zambidis some hard time during the first round. Iron Mike started his counter attack and lead the fight to an extra round where he sealed his superiority!

At the final he faced Dzhabar Askerov in his homeland and got the victory after a great battle by unanimous decision!

Mike Zambidis and his team, that was constituted by Babis Papadopoulos (coach), Alexandros Papadionisiou (gymnast), Vaggelis Stamou (doctor), his supporter Sotiris Tsafoulias and his manager Tonia Fouseki returned to Greece yesterday.

In his first statements after his arrival to Greece, Zambidis stated: "I am very glad that I won such an important title like the W5 world championship. It was all a great experience for me! The fact that I fought for the first time in Russia, not to mention the great level of difficulty and cruelty that the tournament had."

Including these two battles, Zambidis now has a record of 165 fights with 147 wins and 85 Kos and his next challenge is scheduled for the 27th of May in Melbourne against John Wayne Parr!
